ROLL UP, ROLL UP!
In honour of local legend and beloved friend Cate McGee, KH COMEDY FEST is proud to present McGee's Comedy Gala.
Cate, a lover of comedy through and through, very sadly passed away in 2024 at the time of the festival due to an epileptic seizure. She would be overjoyed to know her memory is being celebrated as a headline event, with a fantastic line-up to make sure we're all laughing along with her.
This show will be fundraising for the Epilepsy Society.
LINE-UP: FATIHA EL-GHORRI / BARBARA NICE / THE MAGIC LADY + MORE TBA
Underneath Fatiha’s colourful hijab is a mind full of cutting observations and engaging witticisms on the life and times of a British Muslim woman. Fatiha smashes the Muslim stereotypes and challenges people to think about what they think they know about Islam, Muslims, and Muslim women especially. After debuting her work in progress show ‘Cockney Stacking Doll’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2023, Fatiha won the award for Best Debut Show.
In February 2024 Fatiha was invited to perform onstage at the iconic London Palladium Theatre alongside Sir Lenny Henry as part of Comic Relief’s star-studded Live at the London Palladium event.
Already racking up a score of on-screen credits, Fatiha is the star of the current series of TASKMASTER.
She has also made appearances on The Jonathan Ross Show, The Russell Howard Hour, Outsiders, Stand Up Sketch Show, Big Zuu’s Big Eats, Guessable, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, BBC New Comedy Awards, Out Of Order and Sorry I Didn’t Know. Fatiha has also made several notable appearances on podcasts, including Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster and The Guilty Feminist.
Fatiha’s debut novel The Perks of My Hijab will be published by Simon & Schuster Children’s Books in 2025.
